Most humiliating...
by Igot2bme ini was at home this morning typing up a couple legal documents for some general contractors to sign that were going to be doing some tree removal on my property, when i get a visit from a sister in the hall i used to attend.
she usually stops by at least once a week.
i haven't been to meetings for over a year now and didn't attend memorial this year, but she was quick to remind me how i missed out.

Something I like to do in such circumstances is ask out right but very politely:
"Susan ( place her name here), do you count your time for when you're talking to me?"
And then just look at her and say nothing. Wait for a reply.Even if it takes a while and there is an embarasing silence.
If it is true, then you probably wont see her again.
Oh, and for whatever answer she gives, just say, pensively, " I thought so".

Questions for former elders.
by evilone ini have a few questions regarding moving and changing congs.
i would love to hear from former elders.. .
my wife and i will be moving soon, and as i described in an earlier post we will be using the move as an opportunity to fade.

Hi evilone.
Dacheech is right about your family forwarding your address via the bethel.
However they would only do that if they wanted someone to call on you. ( its what my dad did, and I live in another country now ), suspecting that you were inactive.
I am supposing you want to fade so as to keep contact with family members in the borg?
Have you thought what would happen if they came to visit you. The well indoctrinated nearly always want to go to
the meetings with you.

Cruel Hearted People
by EXMS ini can't believe how people in the "organization" can be so cold hearted.. .
last october, i got an invitation to a friends wedding where i grew up in portland, oregon.
i now live in san diego, california.

Sorry to here your story EXMS.
What really surprises me though, is that yor "friend" knew you were going. He could have had the decency to have telephoned and explained the situation, thus saving you the long trip. That would have at the very least been the correct thing to do.

Quick question, what does it mean when its announced that someone is no longer a Jehovah's witness?
by Joey Jo-Jo inas the title asks, does this mean that the person has been disfellowship on the basis on what the wb&ts considers as a sin or would this more like the person no longer wants to be a jw?.

It is the standard announcement, read word for word, when someone is disfellowshipped.
I seem to recall that in the past it was read "... disfellowshipped for conduct unbecoming a Christian".
A such announcement left them open, in some cases, for slander charges, and so now, no reasons are given.

Struggling
by anniegirl76 ini have been df-ed for almost 9 years.
just out of curiosity, has anyone decided to find another religion or belief after being jw?
i struggle with my feelings, my mom and brother, aunt, cousins are all jw.

Welcome aboard anniegirl.
Many of us here have suffered the same sense of loss, being cut of from the family.
I find that it does help, reading and commenting here.
Do you have any family who are not jws?
I found an uncle/ aunt and cousins who I had not seen for 30 years.
I must relate that story one day. Our first meet up was like something from a prime time TV show.
They are my closest and dearest family now. That helps alot.
Good luck, and once again welcome.
PS for the religious side, I'm like minimus
